Outside has been about one basic principle since 1977: to encourage constructive engagement in the Outside World. They investigate the intersection between their lives and the natural world with profound narrative storytelling, profiles, video, and authoritative service. Their authors carry their special experience and humor through their various outlets to the biggest stories. They hope that you are encouraged to get outside. There isn't any spot like that! Tales about adventure sports, gear, travel, fitness, wellness, culture, and the environment are published outside. They are still on the lookout for outdoor-focused papers, essays, service pieces, and media reviews. Their fellowship functions are Monday through Friday, 40 hours a week. They pay 15 dollars per hour (and time-and-a-half for any overtime hours). For early-career journalists who want to learn how long-form journalism works, the editorial fellowship is a great chance.
