About Outside Plant Engineer

What does an Outside Plant Engineer do?

As Outside Plant Engineers, we are responsible for construction, inspection and maintenance of a telecom company's plant infrastructure. We also provide inspection and analysis of underground, above the ground, and aerial fiber optic cables. In case of any problem, we immediately report to the site and diagnose the problem before it causes any damage. It is our job to design outside facilities and monitor their construction process. We manage a project and make sure everyone involved is working according the network quality and safety standards. It is also our job to maintain record of the used and required equipment to effectively manage cost of a project.

  • inspect outside plant infrastructure
  • design plans for plant facilities
  • manage projects and ensure all the safety and quality regulations are followed
  • maintain record of required and utilized equipment
