What You Will Do:

The Paramedic is responsible for providing safe, high-quality, and customer-focused medical transportation up to the advanced life support level to and from medical facilities, under the direction of Valley Medical Transport’s dispatch center and the Operations Manager.

High School Diploma or equivalent required

Certification & Licensures
Valid driver's license Required
DOT Medical Examiner's certificate DOT Medical Examiner's certificate
BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) - American Heart ‘Healthcare Provider’ (HCP) - AHA approved required *
EMT Paramedic for primary state Required
EMT Paramedic for secondary state within 12 months of hire date or 10/1/2016 whichever is later Required EMT Paramedic for primary state and/or National Registry or both required
EMT Paramedic for secondary state within 6 months of hire date required
Must satisfy the requirements for and maintain a valid driver’s license. Must satisfy the requirements for a DOT equivalent physical examination to obtain and maintain a Medical Examiner’s Certificate, as well as submit to periodic drug screenings, as defined by applicable federal, state, and VH policies & regulations. Current state EMS certification for primary state of assignment (EMT- Paramedic or equivalent) certification required. Certification and ability to provide care at that level in approved secondary state. EVOC (Emergency Vehicle Operators Certificate) or approved equivalent required. ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) course completion or approved equivalent required. PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) course completion or approved equivalent required within six months of employment. * New hires must have American Heart Association (AHA) appropriate certification prior to completion of orientation.

Qualifications
Must be 21 years of age. Basic level ability navigating in Microsoft Windows and ability to accurately gather and enter data into an electronic medical record in a timely manner. Must have and maintain a driving record that is acceptable to the company’s insurance carrier. Must be able to accurately perform pharmacological calculations.
