About Paraprofessional

What does a Paraprofessional do?

As Paraprofessionals, we assist the teacher in preparing lessons, activities and assist special needs students. We develop and introduce new concepts to the teacher in order to help students understand better and faster. We also spend time on one-on-one sessions with special needs students, focusing on their weaknesses while using new comprehensive methodologies to help them visualize and understand the course. We are also responsible for attending to students’ emotional, academic, personal, and physical needs, especially with special needs students who need it the most.

Core tasks:

  • perform clerical duties such as grading tests and tracking student’s attendance
  • prepare educational materials designed for special needs students
  • assist the teacher in counseling parents on how to deal with their children
