Parkland Health and Hospital System earlier named as the Dallas County Hospital District is the hospital district of Dallas County, Texas, United States. Its headquarters are based in the Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas and is the primary hospital of the district. The district was awarded with the Dream Study Award in 2009 by the Greater Dallas Planning Council due to the district’s master plan for its hospital. It began analyzing electronic medical records in 2009 in order to use predictive modeling to help recognize patients at high risk of hospital readmission. Earlier, the hospital centered on patients with congestive heart failure, but the program has expanded to include patients with diabetes, severe myocardial infarction, and pneumonia.
