Part Time Customer Service Representative I SUMMARY This position is primarily responsible for taking new claim calls from repair facilities, collecting initial claim information, and ensuring that the caller is transferred to the correct claims area for further handling. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. We're looking for people that want to work varied shifts Monday through Wednesday and on Saturday from 7:00 am to 1:00 pm. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Answer the phone within standard service level Handle incoming calls, averaging up to 80 per day Collect information from the caller to set up pre-claim in the admin system Transfer the caller to the correct claims area Data entry work when not answering calls Perform all responsibilities to achieve individual goals for quality, time and customer satisfaction Provide status on existing claims Resolve caller issues and refer escalated items to higher levels for guidance Research inquiries in order to provide the caller with basic information Other duties as assigned ACCOUNTABILITY Provide high level of customer service Adhere to the attendance policy EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE High school diploma or general education degree (GED) One to three months customer service experience and/or training is preferred. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read, analyze, and interpret contracts and coverage pages. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from co-workers and customers. COMPUTER SKILLS To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Navigating the Internet Word Processing Software (Word) Electronic Mail Software (Outlook) OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES Remain calm and professional in stressful situations. Friendly, courteous, service-oriented, flexible and enjoy working with others. Detail-oriented and work effectively under pressure while meeting all applicable deadlines. Resolve routine problems. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external organizations, groups, team members and individuals. Must be able to multi-task during each call which includes listening to the customer issues, educating the caller, determining next steps, documenting the interaction by typing detailed notes in the administrative system while at the same time maintaining an excellent customer experience for the caller. TASKS

  • Confer with customers by telephone or in person to provide information about products or services, take or enter orders, cancel accounts, or obtain details of complaints.
  • Check to ensure that appropriate changes were made to resolve customers' problems.
  • Keep records of customer interactions or transactions, recording details of inquiries, complaints, or comments, as well as actions taken.
  • Resolve customers' service or billing complaints by performing activities such as exchanging merchandise, refunding money, or adjusting bills.
