Long hours, low pay, you're expected to be "on call" at all times. Working form home is nice but you need to cranks out hte stories and post ones that are clickbait to boost your rankings.

Culture and Values
After making great strides between 2017 and 2021, Patch shook up the leadership of its editorial department in Dec. 2021 and it's been struggling since. Big round of layoffs in June 2022, scaled back growth expectations and dropping morale. The company is great when all systems are go, but as of September 2022, the future seems very shaky.

Pros and Cons
100% remote, employees who cn work independently are valued
Losing its focus on local news coverage, loss of big advertisers and an uncertain outlook.
