About Patient Access Director

What does a Patient Access Director do?

As Patient Access Directors, we are responsible for planning, managing, and directing the departmental operations following organizational practices. We develop and oversee comprehensive quality improvement plans. We also build and implement growth-centric strategies for the department's optimal working. Reviewing departmental policies following regulatory agencies is also part of our duty. We oversee financial clearances as assigned. We also monitor registration and check-ins. Working as Patient Access Directors, we are responsible for overseeing workforce management such as staffing plans and workforce scheduling. We ensure the optimal functioning of reception systems. We administer the results of various surveys. Finally, we also serve to implement process improvement initiatives.

Core tasks:

  • managing and maintaining faculty-based budgets
  • monitoring the scheduling of all patients services
  • overseeing workflow for clinical and support staff
  • collaborating with the finance department to handle requests for reports from insurance companies
