Job Description

St. Luke’s Health System in Eagle is seeking a Patient Access Specialist 2 to join our Rehab team.

 

Unit/Position Summary
The PAS2 helps support Patient Access and provides an exceptional patient experience through courteous and professional interactions. The PAS2 greets patients, schedules appointments, and collects relevant patient demographic and financial information to ensure a comfortable and efficient process. The PAS2 utilizes excellent customer service skills to ensure all patients feel informed, at ease and appreciated. In conjunction with site leadership, the PAS2 helps coordinate administrative functions and serves as a mentor and onsite.


  • Supports an exceptional experience through all customer interactions, ensuring professional, timely and accurate communication - both verbally and in writing.
  • Supports a perspective payment program by communicating organization policies, financial options, explaining insurance coverage/non-coverage.
  • Utilize a variety of technology, tools, and resources to support departmental workflows.
  • Performs one of the following workflows with attention to detail, accuracy and efficiency:
  • - Call front lining
  • - Patient Registration
  • - Scheduling
  • - Referral Coordination
  • - Order Transcription
  • - Pre-Authorization
  • - Benefit Verification
  • - Patient Obligation Estimates
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: 1 year relevant experience.
  • Licenses/Certifications: None

TASKS

  • Confer with customers by telephone or in person to provide information about products or services, take or enter orders, cancel accounts, or obtain details of complaints.
  • Check to ensure that appropriate changes were made to resolve customers' problems.
  • Keep records of customer interactions or transactions, recording details of inquiries, complaints, or comments, as well as actions taken.
  • Resolve customers' service or billing complaints by performing activities such as exchanging merchandise, refunding money, or adjusting bills.
