About Patient Access Supervisor

What does a Patient Access Supervisor do?

As Patient Access Supervisors, we develop and enforce policies and procedures and ensure that proper experience protocols are followed. We monitor basket pools, the accuracy of registration, and schedule data entered by associates. Clearing issues in various registration and billing work is one of our main responsibilities. We supervise, evaluate, and train staff members and manage patient representative complaints or issues. We ensure that patient representatives verify insurance and authorizations and review daily schedules to minimize empty appointment slots on clinicians’ schedules. Working as Patient Access Supervisors, we lead administrative support staff and provide compassionate care for patients.

Core tasks:

  • manage and delegate team’s roles
  • coordinate work activities of assigned staff
  • collect and report data for statistical and planning purposes
