About Patient Care Advocate

What does a Patient Care Advocate do?

As Patient Care Advocates, we handle customer service phone inquiries from members, providers, physicians, and internal and external clients related to pharmacy benefits, work, to research. We assist members in understanding and maximizing the use of their pharmacy distribution program, handle customer service inquiries from members, providers, physicians, and internal and external clients related to pharmacy benefits. The Patient Care Advocates work to research and resolve problems on time, assist members in understanding and maximizing their pharmacy distribution program, use a computerized system to acquire information and respond to questions, document issues, and resolutions in a common database. We provider and physician calls, answer questions related to pharmacy benefits while maintaining productivity standards and performance guarantees where applicable, work with other operational units to research and resolve mail and claims issues and respond to members within performance agreement guidelines.

Core tasks:

  • ensure accurate and complete documentation of all inquiries
  • identify and report concerns received from patients and clients
  • adhere to quality and production standards
  • handle customer service inquiries from members
