About Patient Coordinator

What does a Patient Coordinator do?

As Patient Coordinators, we are responsible for handling day-to-day routine tasks and providing excellent customer support to our patients. We update the practice management system with new employee details. Scheduling appointments with new and existing patients are also a part of our duty. We obtain authorizations and confirm insurance benefits. We coordinate and maintain extended patient approvals and revised prescriptions. Working as Patient Coordinators, we are responsible for entering and updating patient information. We ensure that new hires have access to patient information and practice administration approvals. Finally, we coordinate and manage changes in technician and patient scheduling.

Core tasks:

  • composing and editing customer emails and written communications
  • sending appointment confirmation to patient
  • maintaining a safe and orderly workplace
  • assisting in data collection and preparation of patient records
