About Patient Financial Representative

What does a Patient Financial Representative do?

As Patient Financial Representatives, we assist with administrative duties in the office, including but not limited to scanning of medical records and faxing. We also guide the patient through self-arrival technology or check-in patient at the desk depending on patient preference. We verify insurance eligibility benefits for services rendered with the payors and documents appropriately.

Core tasks:

  • assisting on obtaining or validating pre-certification, referrals, and authorizations
  • calculating and collecting patients liability according to verification of insurance benefits
  • explaining and providing financial policies for alternative payment arrangements to patients
  • performing daily payment reconciliation in a timely and accurate manner
  • assisting in responding to requests for patient medical records according to firm policies and procedures
