About Patient Financial Services Representative

What does a Patient Financial Services Representative do?

As Patient Financial Services Representatives, we are responsible for receiving payments and posting amounts to customer’s accounts. We prepare statements to the credit department and initiate repossessions if required. Keeping records of the collection and status of accounts is one of our main responsibilities. We assist with all the facets of the hospital billing process and offer services for claim processing and cash posting. Working as Patient Financial Services Representatives, we maintain the best practice routine per department guidelines and monitor accounts for timely follow-ups. We ensure the incoming call volumes are processed timely and all written responses are clearly and professionally communicated.

Core tasks:

  • verify and process insurance claims
  • verify insurance benefits to maximum reimbursements
  • notify the patient of the deductible amount
