About Patient Services Specialist

What does a Patient Services Specialist do?

As Patient Service Specialists, we work for healthcare facilities and complete checking patients in and out, taking phone calls, scheduling patient appointments, managing patient accounts, completing insurance forms, and obtaining patient data. The Patient Service Specialists execute administrative duties by answering telephones, faxing, filing highly sensitive documentation, increase customer service and hospitality skills. We assist therapists in general clinic maintenance and upkeep and provide support to the office manager, physicians, billing, clinical staff, and most importantly, the patients.

Core tasks:

  • provide superior service to patients
  • assist the therapist with patients by setting up their equipment and instructing them in their exercises
  • assist therapists as needed for general clinic maintenance and upkeep
  • entering new patients into the patient database
  • contact hospitals, doctors, and other imaging facilities to get reports for the therapist

Insane what is expected for previous experience for a position that is average pay. Not to mention the skills the position requires can be managed by any individual coming in blind. Skills can be taught. If you’re gonna get it you’re gonna get it. This isn’t rocket science. Businesses should stop calling one “qualified” based on what’s on a piece a paper. I’ve applied and I have 20 yrs previous environment experience. I’ve not heard back but yet the job is still posted?? Hum
