What does a Payment Specialist do?

As Payment Specialists, we are responsible for receiving and processing payments. We review, research, and resolve payment delays and variances resulting from rejected or denied claims. We process the payment as appropriate following contracts and policies to ensure that all potential liabilities are paid promptly.

Core tasks:

  • resolving claims, conducting format account reviews, identifying lost charge recovery, and analyzing and documenting delays and payment variances
  • identifying systematic issues
  • maintaining knowledge of state and federal laws
  • assisting in training new team members
  • resolving problems on issues as required
