JOB SUMMARY: The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for processing time records, balancing and controlling earnings/deductions, calculating and posting payrolls, preparing/filing tax reports, maintaining payroll records , preparing special reports for management and supporting/training employees and management. Responsible to have a complete understanding of all payroll practices, policies, contracts and procedures and to perform periodic audits to ensure compliance with federal and state laws as well as assisting with the testing/implementation of new pay practices/payrolls as needed. The Payroll Specialist will also support and backup at least one additional regional Payroll.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
· 2 to 3 years in a lead role processing payroll preferred; or Associates Degree in related field; or equivalent combination of experience and education.
· Experience using Meditech and API systems preferred.
· Must be proficient in Word and Excel along with experience in using report-writing software.
· FPC or CPP preferred.
I have 3 years of experience processing payroll for a company with 500+ employees. I am familiar with various payroll software and tax regulations.
In the role of Payroll Specialist, our primary responsibility is to gather valuable data of employees. We compile the working hours of each employee and their salary deductions bonuses. After analysing the entire employee data, we process their payments or salaries. Working as Payroll Specialists, we are accountable for processing payments at the receiving of approvals from the upper management system. We are accountable for preparing the bi-monthly payroll using the data tracking methods. We also prepare reports of gross payroll, vacation off, and benefit deductions.
