Penske Truck Leasing

I worked for Penske Truck Leasing at their Corporate office in Greenhills, PA. I had the most incredible manager. I was employed for 5 years and only left because I relocated to CA.

Learned a lot about logistics and great full for experience. Long shifts and not a great work life balance. Definitely will learn. Favoritism is like a cancer in this department. Advised by employees from different departments that I chose the worse department. Hard to get out of this department also if not a favorite.

I liked working there. I only left for a different company that paid more. I have a two week notice.

Trucks always have breakdown and Penske deals with thousands of trucks and trailers so SOS is always busy. Job is to find service to make repairs or to find a substitute vehicle or to tow to destination. It is a busy job but is fun helping people.

Penske is a class organization to work for. Plenty of room to grow with the company posibilities are endless if you have the will and desire.

I spent 8 years with the company. During my time I witnessed an extremely high turnover rate up to the mid level management. They say they promote work/life balance, which is a completely inaccurate statement. Expect to be on call 24/7 whether you are an hourly employee or a salaried manager. And I truly mean 24/7... be prepared for call at 3am and expect to be asked to come in at those times. If you do not, you are reprimanded. There are A LOT of office politics and "boys club" attitudes throughout management. The hierarchy is complicated. At an operations level you will have 3 or 4 direct reporting managers. If they don't like eachother... Expect there to be drama and confusion. One will contradict the other and you will often be left not knowing whose instruction to follow. At a management level they incentivize you with a company car... However, the salary is incredibly low for what is expected of you.
