About Pharmacy Technician

What does a Pharmacy Technician do?

As pharmacy technicians, assist the pharmacists in the preparation and distribution of medicines. We have to distribute medications, maintain the drug records and maintain patient and pharmacy records. Our job also includes maintaining records in a way reliable with all federal, national, local regulations and also with pharmacy rules and measures. We perform our duties under the administration of licensed pharmacists. Our responsibilities include collecting medicines for prescriptions and providing guidelines about medications. We mostly work in a hospital or retail pharmacy.

Core tasks:

  • receiving prescriptions and testing their rationality.
  • selecting the right medicine and measuring the appropriate dosages.
  • sorting, stocking, and labeling medication and manage inventory.
  • sterilizing surfaces and equipment.
