The Philadelphia Police Department (PPD) is the nation's fourth largest, with about 6300 sworn officers and 800 civilian employees. The Philadelphia Police Department is the major law enforcement organization in charge of serving Philadelphia County, which spans 140 square miles and is home to over 1.5 million people. The Department is divided into twenty-one police districts geographically. They are divided into six police divisions. Similarly, the city is divided into two sections: Regional Operations Command North (ROC North) and Regional Operations Command South (ROC South) (ROC South). Under Patrol Operations, each is led by a Chief Inspector. Personnel are assigned to work in 55 different locations throughout Philadelphia, with Police Headquarters located at 750 Race Street in the 6th Police District, in Center City.
