Job Description

What is a Physician Recruiter?

Responsible for sourcing, interviewing, screening, recruiting and referring locum tenens candidates for job orders at healthcare organizations in a timely manner.

What is a typical day like for a Physician Recruiter?
  • Candidate Sourcing - Collaborate with Company marketing personnel to generate prospective candidates and other sources of candidate referrals
    • Meet daily, weekly and other time period activity metrics such as call volume, candidates generated, submittals, interviews and placements
    • Communicate in candidate discussion forums and chat rooms
    • Network with existing and prospective employee database
    • Network with Work with placement offices of strategic referral sources including nursing associations and local college and technical schools to promote Company programs as an employment alternative
  • Candidate Screening
    • Receive and respond to incoming candidate inquiries from advertising campaigns and website applications
    • Phone screen / Interview potential applicants and educate them about the Companys programs and opportunities
    • Assess the fit of applicants for specific opportunities
    • Administer testing for competency by specialty and mandatory OSHA training and testing with computerized or written tests as appropriate
    • Ensure completion of employment and license verifications, reference and criminal background checks, drug tests, mandatory vaccinations and physical exam
    • Ensure the development of complete applicant and client files and maintain applicant and client computer/paper files
  • Candidate Engagement
    • Generate assignment-ready candidates (documents and applications complete) that dont fit our current job orders that can be marketed to prospective clients
    • Maintain periodic contact with candidates not currently on assignment
    • Maintain periodic contact with active placements
    • Work with current and former candidates and placements to generate referrals
  • Develop Job Orders
    • Assist marketing personnel with the development and maintenance of a Candidate Availability Report which can be used to stimulate interest in new business relationships with the Company
  • Make Placements
    • Match candidates and opportunities
    • Persuade candidates to pursue specific opportunities; prudently expand their assignment preferences to include available opportunities
    • Place Healthcare Associates on assignments in a timely mannerAttend conventions, job fairs, and other company/client-sponsored events
  • Human Resources
    • Perform all necessary Human Resource functions for Placements:
      • Verify timecards and resolve payroll issues
      • Verify qualification for and request payment of all bonuses
      • Secure assignment evaluations to use as a basis for performance review
      • Take/document disciplinary action as necessary
    • Maintain a thorough working knowledge of all applicable federal, state and local government, accrediting agency, and client specific contractual requirements/laws including OSHA regulations
    • Maintain positive relationships with existing clients, employees, and coworkers
    • Provide assistance to other departments as requested
  • Systems
    • Use company systems effectively to recruit and retain candidates
    • Identify ways to utilize existing systems to improve recruiting speed, productivity, success, etc.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Who is the right person for this role?
  • 4 Year degree and/or possess relevant experience
  • Strong proficiency in technology skills, including
  • Required: MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Internet and Email
  • Previous staffing, recruiting and/or sales experience is preferred
  • Previous customer service and/or healthcare experience preferred
  • Must be energetic, highly motivated, and able to work in a fast paced environment
  • Must be organized and able to efficiently handle multiple tasks
  • Must demonstrate ability to work well and effectively with others
  • Must have excellent phone and communication skills
  • Must possess strong process orientation
