I worked at planet when I first moved home from college, met a lot of my best friends there. I loved it at first, I love my managers and assistant managers. Then 1 manager in particular came in and kinda ruined it for everyone. We all just started quitting. The work life balance went out the door, favorites were chosen and drama started. It really sucked having that ruined towards the end.

Pros and Cons
Free gym membership, friendships for life
Cleaning all equipment, managing a bunch of people, telling people they owed money

The position is a lot of fun and the hours are decent. I loved working with the majority of my co-workers & I had a blast getting to meet/work with a bunch of different clients along the way. The fitness part of the job stays pretty normal and routine but there are lots of other little things/changes passed down from the corporation onto the specific franchises on a consistent basis that makes it a large nuisance! The pay is decent and every 6 months you are eligible for an evaluation/raise but if granted, don't expect any more than 25 cents (typical corporation ran like an insurance company-very deep pockets but SHORT arms) ...turnover rate seems to be substantially high but it works out ok in the short-term & helps to gain experience to spruce up your resume.

Pros and Cons
Lots of great people/members to work with, hours are good, salary is decent, free gym membership
Corporation's constant rule changes, raises are lackluster, & zero room for growth.

1st of all, we were rarely allowed breaks and there was no break room. We were not given anywhere to eat lunch. They would get upset if you were eating on the sales floor or at your desk. 2nd, we did about 3-4 people's jobs for absolutely garbage compensation 3- management was very pushy and constantly watching in person and through the cameras and would call the office if they saw anything

Pros and Cons
nice coworkers
no breaks, poor management

I really loved my job. I really loved my bosses! I really liked most of the ppl I worked with. Everyone helped everyone else out but you always have that one… that want to push their weight around. That made it kinda rough to face the day but you get through it. The Company itself has a great atmosphere and the work is actually not bad. I can honestly say except for that one glitch, I thought Planet Fitness was an exceptional business to work for.

Pros and Cons
Your never board which makes the day go by fast.
They have a high turn over rate due to the college staff they hire.

I was hired as a part-time team member, before excelling into a management role. Professional development was extended and I was able to complete workshops through the corporate office in New Hampshire. I learned a lot from our franchise owner and appreciated my time working with this company.

Pros and Cons
Work-Life balance was greatly respected
There was always a tone in the air that me uneasy about job security

Was fun at start management acted like I was doing good and doing my job the best they ever seen. Once I was there for 3 months they told me how I need to work harder and make sure that I do extra work outside of work (unpaid) to make new ideas to get more people to come and sign up. They only care about making more money and having the best gym.

Pros and Cons
Got a free membership
Made me work on breaks so it was hard to eat or get personal things done. Also never got a pay raise
