About Plant Engineering Supervisor

What does a Plant Engineering Supervisor do?

As Plant Engineering Supervisors, we are responsible for protecting UPS assets such as buildings, equipment, and grounds. We supervise facility maintenance and housekeeping operations. We manage employees, oversee plant projects, and ensure that teams meet production projections. We troubleshoot problems, resolve conflicts, and identify plant workers for promotion. Assisting management with indirect oversight of the department’s operations is part of our daily responsibilities. We perform major repairs of hired mechanical systems and prepare process plans for new parts. Working as Plant Engineering Supervisors, we determine equipment required through conducting feasibility studies. We also develop and maintain relations with the engineering manager.

Core tasks:

  • perform and record machine tool studies
  • identify and debug production problems
  • assign and supervise work of engineering department
