About Plasterer

What does a Plasterer do?

As Plasterers, we are responsible for applying decorative finishes and plaster to interior and exterior walls and ceilings. We form part of a building or contracting team. Our job is to use skills such as plastering on wooden timbers, lathing, and dry lining plasterboard. We provide quotes to our clients by consulting them and reading their requirements. Our job is to mix materials and apply plasters for construction purposes. We must maintain all the machinery and hand tools and reporting any building issues if detected.

Core tasks:

  • setting meetups with stakeholders and clients to discuss project plant and quoting job costs
  • provide a bond for succeeding coats of plaster by roughening undercoat with scratcher
  • estimating costs for team members and providing plaster quotations
