About Policy Director

What does a Policy Director do?

As Policy Directors, we provide precise, complete and timely statistical information. We are responsible for leading and coordinating the statistics division of the organization and its growing work program. Some of us maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, establishing new alliances with data suppliers. We develop, direct and supervise the statistics products, methods and analysis activities of the section. Working as a policy director, we create specialized statistical methods and mechanisms that shape cross-program work and guide policy and program discussion. We increase international comparability, ensure the advancement of modern statistical concepts and definitions.

Core tasks:

  • create, grow and maintain strategic partnerships with data providers
  • make methodological recommendations on statistical matters
  • coordination and integration of the statistics programs with other departments and organization projects
