Job Description

Equifax is seeking a Pre-Sales Technology Solutions Engineer who can combine technical aptitude, exceptional communication skills and creative problem solving at our customer table.

The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator and will have experience collaborating with diverse internal and external stakeholders to solve client problems in a timely manner. 

As a Pre-Sales Technology Solutions Engineer, you will:

  • Work hand-in-hand with our Technical Consulting Sales teams as an enterprise Cloud subject matter expert. 

  • Partner with pre-sale activities, analyzing requirements and identifying solutions.

  • Help prospective and existing customers understand the power of Cloud infrastructure, SaaS, and Micro Services/Distributed Architecture.

  • Collaborate with Technology sales team to understand customer requirements needs and help to determine system requirements. 

  • Must be comfortable in a client-facing role at all customer levels.

  • Partner with Technology Sales, Product and Pro Services to act product expert in deals and help facilitate the technical aspects of the customer’s evaluation.

  • Work closely with the Technology Sales to align technical requirements and the solution design with the customer's business drivers and demonstrate unique value.

  • Help to coordinate and deliver RFP/I responses and technical architecture solutions.

  • Work with Technology Sales to identify and qualify business opportunities, understand key customer technical objections and develop a strategy to resolve technical blockers.

  • What makes you a good fit for this role?

  • 4+ years of technical solutions engineer experience in a cloud computing environment as a Cloud Subject Matter Expert
  • Must be able to work as a consultant in a pre-sales function along with the Technology Sales team to fully understand client needs and build customizable solutions 
  • Experience with legacy and modern application development, cloud service delivery, and deployment
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Honed communication and demonstration skills; experience and confidence providing information to highly skilled audiences ranging from on the ground individual contributors up to C-level executives
  • Strong technical knowledge with the ability to take information and build materials and presentations to illustrate clear value propositions
  • Ability to determine customer requirements and translate into highly configurable solutions (business case, requirements, product needs)
  • Successfully make engineering jargon like program specifications and technical requirements easily understood, explain how complex features and configurations work, and demonstrate how solutions can meet the prospect's / customer's needs & requirements
  • Articulate technology and product positioning to both business and technical users and identify all technical issues that will assure complete customer satisfaction throughout all stages of the sales and implementation process
  • Must be comfortable in a client-facing role at all customer levels
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Curiosity and a drive to learn something new each day that you can apply back to your work or your team’s work

  • Experience with containers and associated technologies

  • Ability to lead architecture discussions and influence key decision makers around deployment top technologies, scaling, performance and sizing

  • Development experience with Java or similar coding paradigms

  • Experience with web services related standards such as HTTP, REST, SOAP, XML

    Location

    This is an outside sales role and therefore a remote opportunity. 50% travel in various locations across the United States is required, so we are flexible on location. Candidates must be open to travel with access to a home/remote worksite when not on the road.

    TASKS

    • Collaborate with sales teams to understand customer requirements, to promote the sale of company products, and to provide sales support.
    • Sell products requiring extensive technical expertise and support for installation and use, such as material handling equipment, numerical-control machinery, or computer systems.
    • Plan and modify product configurations to meet customer needs.
    • Confer with customers and engineers to assess equipment needs and to determine system requirements.
