About Prepress Specialist

What does a Prepress Specialist do?

We, prepress specialists, work in the graphics department. We manage and prepare the art files on electronic equipment. We outline the specifications for print production. We ensure that safety and production are being met. Our duties include ensuring high-quality designs. We communicate with other departments for strategic implementation. As prepress specialists, we correct the colors of the prints and adjust the designs. We ensure that files suit the color targets of the clients. We create the artwork that customers prefer. We create the plate creations. We manage various tasks in the production stage. Some of us collaborate with the product development and sales team to share clients’ needs.

Core tasks:

  • operating the editing software and applications
  • supporting the fingerprinting in press
  • assisting with file transfers and communication
