About Procurement Agent

What does a Procurement Agent do?

As Procurement Agents, we are responsible for coordinating all the operations associated with the procurement of materials and supplies for the organization. We assist in sourcing strategies, negotiation, and documentation of contracts. We evaluate subcontractors, vendors, and service providers. Giving recommendations to procurement managers based on these evaluations is also part of our duty. We communicate and implement the company’s policies and standards. We also set up and supervise purchasing buyouts. Working as Procurement Agents, we are responsible for developing working relations with potential businesses. We communicate performance metrics to evaluate and oversee supplier performance. Finally, we assist in project procurement management and budget closeouts.

Core tasks:

  • assisting in supply chain management and implementation of purchasing objectives
  • negotiating pricing, lead time, and procurement terms
  • ensuring purchasing and delivery within assigned budget by performing cost analysis
  • managing and issuing expedition reports on a regular basis
