Job Description

This position is responsible for all phases of the program, including program planning and implementation, recruiting and advising students, student retention, and transitioning students into their first teaching assignments post-graduation.Screening will begin in December; position will remain open for applications at least through 1/2/2019. We reserve the right to request letters of reference at a future date, such as once we have identified interview candidates.Responsibilities / DutiesProgram ManagementPlan, develop, and implement the program, engage in program planning and review on an on-going basisDevelop curriculum including Canvas courses; develop course schedulesDevelop and/or interpret program policies and proceduresAnalyze program operations; work with program advisory committees to ensure program quality and compliance with state requirements and laws; provide reportsPropose program enhancements and procedural revisions as neededOversee website updates and maintenance (internal and PESB); oversee updating of EDIE (data system)Coordinate requirements with both internal and external partiesDevelop and implement marketing, recruitment, and outreach strategiesManage continuous program review including collecting, reviewing and reporting on the program, and maintain program approvalsManagement of program budget; participate and oversee grant writing and administrationCommunication & RelationshipsOversee program communications and marketing, internal and externalDevelop and maintain relationships with school district partners, supervisors, mentor teachers; attend meetings; attend conferences and other meetings regarding CTEDevelop relationships and act as liaison between internal and external partners including school districtsDevelop and maintain relationships with Education Department administration and faculty, cross-campus faculty, staff, and other departments at EWU and outside entitiesOversee development and distribution of marketing materialsMeet regularly with districts, ESD, building principals, supervisors, mentors, students and EWU facultyOversee digital materials and ensure materials are up-to-date; work with IT on needed updatesRecruitment, Admissions, AdvisingDetermine if application process is working and up-to-date; work with Admissions and/or IT to resolve issuesReview applications and transcripts; conduct reference checksCoordinate admits with district HR offices or district contactRespond to inquiries (phone, email) ongoingDevelop and implement orientation processes and sessionsCommunicate with community colleges program information for recruitment purposesMaintain continual communication with candidates, mentors, and administratorsNotify students regarding their admission statusAdvise candidates regarding programs of studyDetermine placement of all students by working closely with building principalsAssist in recruitment and hiring of CTE adjuncts and/or faculty following department, college, or university protocolsRetentionMaintain continual conversation with candidates about their status and program planInvestigate and resolve student issuesDevelop, implement and oversee student practicum supervisionReview and oversee progress on Teacher Development PlanCommunicate progress with mentors, candidates, supervisors, etc.Identify and work to meet the individual needs of each student in the programAdvise program students (serve as the program advisor) Associated topics: ad, analyst, chief marketing officer, hospital, mba, public, relationship, stewardship, twitter, university relationship
