About Project Architect

What does a Project Architect do?

As Project Architects, we plan and conduct minor modifications to complete working drawing sets as required. We work under the principal's direction on construction documents and design for various sized, complex building projects. We also assist with code review, research for materials, specifications, and coordinating engineering and architectural systems. We also ensure that construction detail documentation is followed with quality control and best practices. Our job is to focus on design, sustainability, community, and density, along with making sure our projects are within budget. We understand applicable codes and universal design concepts and also have the ability to coordinate projects independently.

Core tasks:

  • managing schedules of projects and goals with principle and clients, also ensure each project meets the deadline and budget
  • attending field reviews, on-site meetings, and project meetings along with coordinating schedule reviews and submitting samples
  • working individually and in a team to develop all the planning and creative designing
  • maintaining the project manual, conducting and documenting on-site observations, and reviewing it
