About Proofreader

What does a Proofreader do?

As Proofreaders, we read and evaluate written text from any typographical and grammatical errors. We also liaise between writers and editors in order to determine the composition of specific texts in the document. We utilize word processors and other software to make changes on typeset documents whenever necessary and compare typeset proofs against the original copy to identify any error or omission. We also evaluate the dimensions of page elements such as image & text spacing and positioning, to ensure that they conform with the set specifications.

Core tasks:

  • ensure that page numbers an in the right order and not repeated
  • analyze all documents to make sure that each chapter title match the list of content
  • correct or rephrase written text to ensure that the document’s structure and content are consistent
