About Provider Enrollment Specialist

What does a Provider Enrollment Specialist do?

As Provider Enrollment Specialists, we are responsible for facilitating the application from a new provider through all stages to enroll the provider with commercial and government payers and facilities. We determine the type of care for which the patient in a clinic is eligible. Verifying patients’ eligibility with their insurance carrier and collecting health records and forms is one of our main responsibilities. We update practitioner information in internal software and external payers. Working as Provider Enrollment Specialists, we maintain copies of licensure and documents necessary for the enrollment process. We handle applications, collect information, and determine candidate’s eligibility for programs.

Core tasks:

  • guide candidates in the enrollment process
  • enter data in software and provide customer care
  • process enrollments and dis-enrollments
