The Senior Account Director (SAD) has over seven years of public relations agency experience. The SAD serves as a primary client contact, providing strategic direction and guiding the execution of the tactical elements of 451 Agency public relations campaigns. The SAD reports directly to Executive Vice President of PR and is responsible for the daily oversight of an assigned public relations team, which can consist of one or more of the following: Senior Account Executives, Account Executives, Assistant Account Executives, and Account Coordinators. The SAD works closely with 451 Agency digital marketing teams to facilitate integrated communications campaigns.
The SAD has mastered the strategic development and tactical execution of a public relations campaign and has strong client management skills. They continue to develop and refine PR team and client management skills by working closely with Vice President and executive staff to help strengthen and grow the agency's PR practice. SADs should have demonstrated leadership and teaching skills through their work with Senior Account Executives, Account Executives, Assistant Account Executives, Account Coordinators and support staff.
Responsibilities:Develop and maintain strong relationships with client contact(s)Develop and maintain successful relationships with key media members and bloggersManage a team of Senior Account Executives, Account Executives, Assistant Account Executives, and Account Coordinators as assignedDevelop and oversee targeted public relations strategies for clientsGuide PR team in the development and execution of tactical plans for clientsOversee regular client reporting - weekly, monthly and quarterlyKeep abreast of each client's industry; competition and coverageContinually look to identify various client opportunitiesOversee and assist with team's identification, pitching and follow-up with editorial opportunities and new media opportunitiesOversee the writing and placement of by-lined articles when appropriateAttend in-person press meetings with client and staff eventsOversee the development of press kit documents as well as news releases and pitch lettersDevelop press tour schedules, appointments; secure meetings at trade showsWork with social media team when appropriate Serve as a mentor for junior staff members
