Job Description

Public Relations Senior Account Executive - NYC The client views you as the media relations expert for top-tier press and bloggers, and as one of the primary writers. You are also well versed in social media, and provide guidance to other team members on your accounts. Core media relations person on account Backup client contact, on all communications; for smaller accounts an SAE may be the day to day contact Contributes heavily to client calls; runs calls in absence of manager Writes top-tier press releases, bylines, blog posts Writes pitches for campaigns and launches to serve as template for the team with no oversight from manager Drafts amplification memos for each media hit Stays on top of client and industry news - leverages it for regular proactive outreach to reporters on behalf of clients Comes up with creative ideas for clients each week Stays up-to-date on PR trends and client trends Attends Manager Trainings after beginning to run teams Suggests social media ideas and stays up-to-date for the team on new social media platforms/ideas/information Mentors junior staff and role models positive InkHouse values and behaviors Oversees and offers strategic counsel on speaking and awards programs Drafts awards for InkHouse to showcase client work Manages analyst programs Liaisons with design team as needed for infographic/design work InkHouse blog contributor - 3 times per year Desired client mindset: "The SAE is constantly thinking about new and innovative ways to bring my story to market. S/he understands my business and my industry, and the various players within it. S/he knows the reporters and analysts in this space COLD, and is up to speed on everything they have written recently. In fact, s/he most often alerts me to relevant coverage. When I don't know what we can do to get coverage, I can count on my SAE to find ways to make it happen. At the same time, s/he has a handle on all facets on my account. I would never want my SAE to be removed from my account."

TASKS

  • Identify main client groups and audiences, determine the best way to communicate publicity information to them, and develop and implement a communication plan.
  • Develop and maintain the company's corporate image and identity, which includes the use of logos and signage.
  • Manage special events, such as sponsorship of races, parties introducing new products, or other activities the firm supports, to gain public attention through the media without advertising directly.
  • Write interesting and effective press releases, prepare information for media kits, and develop and maintain company internet or intranet web pages.

  • Customer and Personal ServiceKnowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
