We validate and normalize very large data sets for model estimation and event studies. It is our duty to identify features useful for the predictive modeling of market dynamics. We design and put in place systematic strategies that can exploit market abnormalities. We use the scientific method to develop sophisticated investment models. Applying quantitative techniques like machine learning is a part of our job. We create and test complex investment ideas. We serve as subject matter experts in statistical methods or machine learning. Applying our expertise in quantitative analysis and data mining is our duty. We assess the validity and rigor of new data sources and approaches.
