Job Description

Job Summary:
Working under supervision of various providers and/or General Manager, in an outpatient setting, provides basic and routine assistance with patient care delivery within the Radiology Technologist scope of practice and required certifications in accordance with Physicians Immediate Care LLC policies, practices and procedures and applicable regulations


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for performing accurate routine x-rays that assist with patient diagnosis. Will practice radiation safety precautions to maintain the lowest levels of radiation exposure dose for both you and the patient.
  • Responsible for preparing and sending over-reads & Radiologist readings as well as reporting the over-read results to providers and providing reports into the patient medical records.
  • Welcomes Physicians Immediate Care patients and visitors by greeting them in person, answers inquiries and directs them through registration process.
  • Always positively affects the patients and visitors perception of the visit experience.
  • Assists patients with insurance documentation and billing questions. Guides patients in providing required information and completing paperwork.
  • Professionally obtains patient information necessary for processing medical charges, including a copy of an insurance card, a copy of a driver license or other form of photo identification, and other information related to each patient situation.
  • Collects and processes patient payments.
  • Assists the practitioner with examinations, procedures, and other duties. Responsible for assessing, screening and triaging patients and for maintaining medical records. Limited administration of medications per orientation and training designation.
  • Responsible for patient call backs; scheduling physician referrals; obtaining insurance information for specialist''s referrals and pharmacy issues, patient''s education and maintaining finalized radiologist dictation reports.
  • Responsible for preparing exam rooms, decontamination of equipment, and stocking of supplies.
  • Collects and documents vital signs. Collects and prepares specimens for laboratory analysis. Assesses and properly handles lab results.
  • Attends facility in-services and required staff trainings and meetings.


    Education/Experience Requirements:
    1. Must be a graduate of a certified school of radiography. Current state licensure (if applicable) and CPR certification preferred.
    2. At least two (2) years experience with routine radiography is preferred. Knowledge of operation and maintenance of the equipment and the demonstrated ability to work independently required.
    3. Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (A.R.R.T.) registration and continued compliance with the continuing education standards set forth by the A.R.R.T.
    Language Skills:
    1. Respond to requests and inquiries from the general public in person and over the telephone.
    2. Exercise tact and diplomacy in dealing with sensitive, complex and confidential patient issues and situations.
    3. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
    4. Learn computer software programs; enter and maintain accurate data and statistical information in order to consistently prepare clear and concise reports, correspondence and other written materials.
    Skills:
    1. The principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
    2. Applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations including the requirements of the HIPAA and OSHA and applicable state rules and regulations pertinent to medical practices.
    3. Computerized information systems used in business applications and clinical management systems (EMR) and digital imaging equipment.
    4. Accreditation and certification requirements and the ability to maintain all appropriate licenses.

  • Review and evaluate developed x-rays, video tape, or computer-generated information to determine if images are satisfactory for diagnostic purposes.
  • Operate or oversee operation of radiologic or magnetic imaging equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic purposes.
