HCA Houston Healthcare Northwest is a 423-bed acute care hospitalthat has been serving the north Houston community for more than 40 years,providing a wide range of medical services including cardiology, maternitycare, neonatal intensive care, pediatrics, bariatrics and neurology.
?HCA Houston Healthcare Northwest is affiliated with HCA HoustonHealthcare, part of the HCA Healthcare Gulf Coast Division. The division is acomprehensive network of hospitals, outpatient surgery centers, emergencycenters and diagnostic imaging facilities in greater Houston, Corpus Christiand South Texas. Facilities include: 17 hospitals, nine ambulatory carecenters, 13 off-campus emergency centers, and a regional transfer center.
What youwill do in this role:
- The Radiology Tech performs technical dutiesunder the direction of the Imaging lead, Manager, and/or Medical Director ofRadiology and obtains quality diagnostic radiographs while maintaining superiorpatient care and providing excellent customer service to patients, family, andall hospital staff.
- Maintains departmental compliance logs.
- Participates in performance improvementprocesses.
- Obtains quality diagnostic images according toprotocol
- Exam orders: ensures all orders have therequired 5 elements
- PACS: Scans in and labels documentsappropriately, resolve QA issues in a timely manner, ensure images are releasedto radiologists in a timely manner.
- RIS: ensures orders are valid and enteredappropriately, ensures ordering physician is correct, completes exams withaccurate information, documents pertinent information.
- Participates in departmental accreditationprocesses and QA.
- Transports patients as necessary.
- Follows all radiation protection and dosereporting policies and processes.
Qualifications
Whatqualifications you will need:
- Graduate of an accredited school of Radiography
- ARRT (R) or registry eligible; Texas MedicalBoard licensure or Texas Medical Board MRT eligibile
- American Heart Association Health Care ProviderBLS
- Prefer 6+ months of Radiography experience inan acute care hospital

TASKS
- Review and evaluate developed x-rays, video tape, or computer-generated information to determine if images are satisfactory for diagnostic purposes.
- Operate or oversee operation of radiologic or magnetic imaging equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic purposes.
- Use radiation safety measures and protection devices to comply with government regulations and to ensure safety of patients and staff.
- Position imaging equipment and adjust controls to set exposure time and distance, according to specification of examination.

- Mechanical — Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
