Rady Children’s Hospital provides services to San Diego, Southern Riverside and Imperial Counties, opened in 1954 and is affiliated with the UC San Diego School of Medicine. Rady Children's Hospital comprises 524 beds and grants comprehensive pediatric specialties to patients from birth to 18 years old as well as a small number of adults. According to the US News and World Report, it was ranked in all 10 specialities in 2020. It's mission is to refurbish, assist and complement the health and potential of children with the help of excellence in care, education, research and advocacy. The vision of the hospital is to become a leader and identified nationally and internationally for its excellence in patient care, education, research and advocacy. It is the only hospital in the San Diego area which is committed exclusively to pediatric healthcare and it is the only designated pediatric trauma center in the region. The hospital has an outstanding team which includes almost 1,000 physicians and 1,500 nurses on staff, more than 5,100 employees and about 500 active volunteers and more than 1,200 Auxiliary members.
