Job Description
GENERAL DESCRIPTION An employee in this position is responsible for performing heavy lifting (60 lbs), inventorying empty bins, assisting with shipping and receiving, and delivering supplies and equipment to personnel. Work is subject to inside and outside environmental conditions. Work is performed with a high degree of independence and is supervised by the Shipping & Receiving Manager.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Unload, inspect, grade & receive all fruit. Fill out all necessary paperwork. Assists with keeping apple storage room, empty bin & drum yard organized Loads appropriate empty bins on appropriate truck. Fill out all necessary paperwork. Sort and consolidate empty apple bins A willingness to do whatever the company required when shipping and receiving is slow, but not limited to: General cleanup and/or maintenance and master sanitation of the apple storage, empty bin yard, drum yard Must be HAACP Certified / Assist Scale house attendant Must be able to operate scale house & fill out necessary paperwork. Assisting with fruit staging as required Ability to work different shifts is a must Other duties as assigned
WORK EXPERIENCE & PERSONAL SKILL REQUIREMENTS Basic knowledge of a shipping and receiving operation Ability to follow established policies and procedures Ability to maintain and keep accurate records Ability to work independently with minimum supervision Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written forms Ability to follow instructions and organize work duties accordingly Entry level working knowledge of computers Ability to be flexible in work assignments and accept changes in duties and work assignments as needed and/or scheduled

Tasks
Pack and unpack items to be stocked on shelves in stockrooms, warehouses, or storage yards.
Store items in an orderly and accessible manner in warehouses, tool rooms, supply rooms, or other areas.
Examine and inspect stock items for wear or defects, reporting any damage to supervisors.
Receive and count stock items, and record data manually or on computer.
Mark stock items, using identification tags, stamps, electric marking tools, or other labeling equipment.
Verify inventory computations by comparing them to physical counts of stock, and investigate discrepancies or adjust errors.
Issue or distribute materials, products, parts, and supplies to customers or coworkers, based on information from incoming requisitions.
Provide assistance or direction to other stockroom, warehouse, or storage yard workers.
Dispose of damaged or defective items, or return them to vendors.
Clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
Recommend disposal of excess, defective, or obsolete stock.
Keep records on the use or damage of stock or stock-handling equipment.
Prepare and maintain records and reports of inventories, price lists, shortages, shipments, expenditures, and goods used or issued.
Determine proper storage methods, identification, and stock location, based on turnover, environmental factors, and physical capabilities of facilities.
Compile, review, and maintain data from contracts, purchase orders, requisitions, and other documents to assess supply needs.
Prepare products, supplies, equipment, or other items for use by adjusting, repairing or assembling them, as necessary.
Determine sequence and release of back orders according to stock availability.
Confer with engineering and purchasing personnel and vendors regarding stock procurement and availability.
Purchase new or additional stock, or prepare documents that provide for such purchases.
Advise retail customers or internal users on the appropriateness of parts, supplies, or materials requested.
Sell materials, equipment, and other items from stock in retail settings.
Drive trucks to pick up incoming stock or to deliver parts to designated locations.
