What does a Registered Nurse do?

As Registered Nurses, we primarily provide patients with health care specialized to improve their well-being. We work alongside medical professionals to carry out treatments and tests in line with any rule or regulation in place. We must organize, interpret, and study the diagnostic tests of patients to recognize and evaluate their conditions. It is our duty to provide counselling and educate the patients and their family members on the details of their treatment plans. We supervise and direct other nurses, nurse aides, and assistants.Often, Registered Nurses are required to make decisions of sound judgment in the management of patient care.

Core tasks:

  • collection of patient health records
  • administration of prescription and over-the-counter medication and changing of wound dressings

  • meet with doctors and supervisors to decide on the best course of treatment for patients
