About Registered Veterinary Technician

What does a Registered Veterinary Technician do?

We, the registered veterinary technicians, are responsible to help out doctors and surgeons with the surgeries of animals. We take care of the patients by checking for their health conditions. We place tubes, give anesthesia, and help to prepare the animals for their surgery. We also can perform dental and oral checkups of the animals. Also, we help with the radiography and urinalysis of the patient. Keeping an eye on the pet after the surgery and giving medicines on time also is part of our job.

Core tasks:

  • assisting in X-rays
  • helping in lab work and collecting samples
  • keeping up the record of patients
