About Registration Specialist

What does a Registration Specialist do?

As registration specialists, we are responsible for managing patient information, including the verification of their insurance details and medical treatment schedules. We assign admission rooms and processing payments for discharge. We also assist patients with completing medical forms by helping them fill out papers with the most accurate information. As registration specialists, we perform administrative duties as needed. We must sustain excellent data management skills to process information and provide the highest quality services.

Core tasks:

  • completing all charge entries and codes for billing of multiple doctors each day
  • collect and enter online patient demographic and insurance information in various registration locations, including admitting, emergency, and outpatient departments
  • schedule patients for mammograms, ultrasound, surgeries, and biopsies
  • register patients for scheduled procedures ensuring accurate information is entered into Meditech
