About Regulatory Compliance Specialist

What does a Regulatory Compliance Specialist do?

In the role of Regulatory Compliance Specialists, we perform a second line of defense role to help ensure corporate initiatives comply with applicable laws. We are responsible for executing complex risk-based compliance transaction testing. Validating business line adherence to applicable laws and regulations is a part of our job. We execute assigned compliance testing reviews. We evaluate processes for key compliance controls. It is our duty to develop strategies to ensure the appropriate testing of controls. We identify control weaknesses and root causes of compliance deficiencies. We also conduct extensive research to support regulatory exceptions.

Core tasks:

  • obtain and analyze test data from multiple sources
  • interact with lines of business
  • assist with the resolution of identified concerns
  • assess the adequacy of remediation activities
  • prepare work papers and final testing reports
  • retain documents that substantiate test results
