About Release OF Information Specialist

What does a Release OF Information Specialist do?

As Release of Information Specialists, we are responsible for compiling, processing, and maintaining medical records of patients. We ensure compliance with the medical, legal, administrative, and regulatory requirements of the healthcare systems. Processing and reporting patient information for health requirements in a manner consistent with the industry’s coding system is one of our main responsibilities. We manage state quality assurances for Medicaid waiver programs. Working as Release of Information Specialists, we generate reports for managing compliance with Medicaid documentation and assist members with completing Medicaid waiver applications.

Core tasks:

  • assist clients with selecting Medicaid HMO
  • develop training manuals and guides
  • establish standards of quality and productivity
