About Renal Dietitian

What does a Renal Dietitian do?

As renal dietitians, we conduct health assessments of patients, collaborates with the medical staff to formulate dietary recommendations and quality management measures, creates meal schedules for dialysis patients, creates enteral and parenteral therapies, and provides food guidance for patients and their families. We evaluate the nutritional state of patients and develop/implement a recovery strategy that includes dietary therapies.

Core tasks:

  • implement Medical nutritional therapy (MNT), and observations recording and sugestions
  • reevaluate the patient's dietary needs, log the nutritional plan of treatment, and monitor success
  • cducate the patient/caregiver on all facets of MNT, including diet therapy though not exclusively
