I worked as ResCare as an Accountant for about four months, but developed epilepsy just I was getting completely comfortable in the position. I had full seizures on my first and last days working there. Would be more than happy to return as it compensates very well, has a friendly and supportive staff, and a satisfying, positive mission. My condition is now controlled and medicated adequately.

Pros and Cons
Environment
Commute. Not their fault, as I was driving from Sun Lakes, AZ.

When I first started at rescare, it really seemed like some people really cared about the clients we took care of, but it was incredibly apparent that others did not, including nursing staff, that they were only there for a paycheck, There was an employee who worked over night ( I worked day shift) who would not do anything over night, slept on the clock, did not change the clients, would blast inappropriate music and would sit outside in their car blaring music a half hour before their shift ended, And was FINALLY fired after a month and a half of complaints from multiple staff. Management beyond that was okay, I had an unexpected stay in the hospital and they held onto my job for me. I'm not sure if anything has changed since I left at the end of 2020 but I hope it got better.

Pros and Cons
The relationship you build with the clients
Horrible nursing staff, coworkers in it just for the money

The client/staff relationships are the BEST in this job. However, can barely keep enough staffing for the homes, management has horrible communication skills .. (if any)... And most "higher ups" are NOT "in it for making the clients'quality of life/living better" (as they'll drill into your head during your first week of training... They do NOT follow up on routine "specific client training" as per POLICY!!

Pros and Cons
Building/Bonding with the clients, assisting them in their daily living
Poor management, high turn-over rate, LAZY selfish higher ups

Employer very unprofessional. We’re not willing to work with vacation time, co- workers unprofessional and not on time to report to work. They did not care for staff safety and the pay was horrible. The group homes were not updated and there was not enough staff to take individuals on outings. And vehicles were not in proper working conditions.

Pros and Cons
Kept my CNA up to date
Pay not great and unprofessional

This has got to be the worst company on earth , at least the Pomona office , it seems they will hire anyone , the house manager at one of the homes I worked in would be outside with her boyfriend in the car , aides would have to be told feces was on the floor , they would allow these aides to pass meds , the drug count would be so messed up ,I began to feel like if I stayed I would be putting my license at risk , if you say something to one of them they will get together and make up a lie to get you out .. I know .. because it happened to me .. funny how I left there , got a much better / professional job , few years later get a letter from an attorney saying my name has been added to a class action suit and that I would be receiving a check .. and I did get my portion , I would never place a family member or animal in these people care .

Pros and Cons
I always wanted to work with IDD patients
Low pay , unprofessional HR , no room for growth

They do t pay enough, staff doesn’t come in as scheduled so you’re stuck at the location until someone if anyone eventually shows up. Clients are wonderful and most of the staff are great but the pay needs to be raised significantly for the work that’s required.

Pros and Cons
Health insurance
Staff doesn’t show and leaves you working two days straight or more
