As Residential Life Coordinators, we are responsible for the residential education of students living in assigned areas of responsibility through the supervision, selection, training, and evaluation of graduate students, resident assistants, office staff, and other related residential individuals. We facilitate student learning through implementing the departmental residential curriculum and advise student leadership organizations in assigned areas of responsibilities. This also includes graduate and undergraduate staff supervision and recruitment, residence hall operations, customer service, crisis management, student programming. hall opening and closing, health and safety checks, and serving in an on-call duty rotation. Additionally, we provide you weekly and bi-weekly reports of overall performance in form of stats.
Core tasks:
- perform supervisory responsibilities in a manner consistent with departmental, institutional, and legal expectations
- provide ongoing communication on performance to direct supervisees
- bring informal communication and formal communication in accordance with human resources protocol
- meet regularly with peer advisors for personal and professional development and ensure ongoing communication;
- ensure peer advisors are abiding by departmental, institutional, and legal expectations
