About Residential Advisor

What does a Residential Advisor do?

As Residential Advisors, we provide a safe, supportive, and predictable environment in dormitory supervision of Job trainees, students, and hostilities in their daily activities, monitoring their progress in attaining performance contract goals. We help the residents to achieve their objectives utilizing behavior management, intentional attitude, and consistent core value-driven practices. Additionally, we conduct dormitory operations in accordance with center operating policies in accordance with standard operating procedures to maintain a healthy disciplined life throughout the locality. We also maintain individual records for each individual that contains basic identifying information, including emergency contacts, and written consent from the guardians for any outside activities.

Core tasks:

  • maintain positive and effective relations with students.
  • provide guidance for students to achieve a positive attitude and proper behavior
  • determine and recommend student visits to the counselor and health staff as appropriate.
  • supervise, direct, and monitor dorm and student activities, as designated, including dorm government and peer court.
  • assist with dorm and recreational activities
  • transport students, as needed, to and from recreational activities, airports, stores, bus stations and other similar places
