Description
The Residential Coordinator develops a sense of community among visiting researchers in the UIC Science Dormitories. The Coordinator serves as a positive role model to researchers and staff members. The resident coordinator enforces the rules and policies
of UICS Housing and acts as a liaison between researchers and the UIC Science Project Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities
Develop a sense of community and respectful environment for researcher living in the dormitory community.
Establish and maintain relationships with researchers by being available and approachable in the dormitory community.
Be knowledgeable about resources provided by UIC Science, and be able to answer basic questions as well as who to refer visiting scientists to.
Confront and document Housing policy violations in the dormitory community.
Respond to emergency and critical incidents involving researchers related to health, safety, and security issues.
Provide overnight on-duty coverage in the dormitory community, including rounds (2- 3 rounds during the evening in all lodging facilities) and being available and visible in the community to researchers.
Maintain the dormitory living conditions by educating and encouraging researchers to respect the physical unit (neatness and safety), to maintaining a reasonable noise level, and to respect the rights of other researchers.
Communicate regularly with the Science Project Manager and Administrative Assistant for scheduling questions, recommendations, supplies inventory and concerns.
Develop Residential Policies and Procedures manual.
Fill drinking water jugs nightly.
Maintain researcher fridge, freezer and food storage schedule.
Assist with issues in the dorms such as lock outs, issuing keys, work order requests and inventory management.
Assist with evening research arrivals.
Ensure all doors are locked properly in the evening.
Other duties as assigned

TASKS

  • Maintain records of patient care, condition, progress, or problems to report and discuss observations with supervisor or case manager.
  • Provide patients with help moving in and out of beds, baths, wheelchairs, or automobiles and with dressing and grooming.
  • Bathe patients.
  • Care for patients by changing bed linens, washing and ironing laundry, cleaning, or assisting with their personal care.
