I really enjoyed this job, but the customer base was very racist and transphobic. I watched every day the guys who ran the forklifts breaking merchandise and destroying equipment and when I brought the issues up with management I began to be harassed and threatened. I had a customer who actually told me that he missed the days when “ a fag like me could be taught a lesson and nobody cared “ I was responsible for cleaning the bathroom and the male customers would literally defecate on the floor and write derogatory remarks in blood and feces on the walls. When I told this to my manager she told me that I needed to toughen up and deal with it. I was fired because I threw away plastic wrap and six fifty pound bags of flour that the forklift driver had ripped open from a pallet and was spreading the flour around the entire store every time he drove around. My whole job was supposed to be to clean the store but every one made messes on purpose and when I went to management I was belittled.

Pros and Cons
Hours were great, work was great.
Customers were abusive, and managers didn’t want to be bothered about “drama “

I worked for Jetro and Restaurant Depot as a Branch Manager. Very good compared with working in regular retail. Challenging environment. Company is always changing. Generally good upper management. Definately the "guys club." Good benefits. Not much vacation. 3 weeks. but good 401k match. Knowing what I know now, I would not work there for less than $150,000 base alone. Too much stress

Pros and Cons
Upper management is not easy, but reasonable
not much time off

I was but a mere intern during my two days working here, however, during that time I found the environment was pretty laid back. Despite Restaurant Depot requiring non stop action during the course of your shift, overall it is quite easy to accomplish, will not leave u overwhelmed with tasks, and the seniors there help you step by step to ensure the best work accomplished.

Pros and Cons
Headphone-Concealment friendly, Samples of Food provided.
None that i can think of.

This food warehouse provides food for multi-ethnic restaurants and owners/workers. They call on a daily basis to check on inventory and the computer system is disorganized and communication is difficult. In addition, the current employees were unfriendly and unhelpful. The manager was rude, disrespectful and didn't appreciate me after covering many hours for a sick co-worker, I would suggest looking for another position somewhere else.

Pros and Cons
I was hired just to cover sick people.
Servicing many ethnic groups/languages.

Not flexible at all. Managers don't care if you have schedule constraints and have agreed to them, if they schedule you, you must work because most managers will refuse to change the schedule.
